Michael Robertson is currently the Managing Director for the Lark Play Development Center in New York City where he oversees finance, fundraising, board development, and strategic planning for the 17 year old company dedicated to advancing the American Theatre through nurturing unheard and unique voices and connecting those voices with audiences and production opportunities nationally and internationally. During his tenure, Lark’s budget and staff size have doubled and the organization’s profile has increased exponentially. Previously he served as Director of Development for Collaborative Arts Project 21 (CAP21), a theatre company and musical theatre conservatory associated with New York University, where he established a comprehensive fundraising program. Other positions included Director of Membership at the National Alliance for Musical Theatre where he oversaw communications nationwide for the 130-member service organization and planned seven national conferences, Managing Director of Assembly Productions, and Director of Annual Fund for Trinity School. He serves on the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts Foundation Board of Trustees and has served on panels for the National Endowment for the Arts, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York, The MAP Fund, and Theatre Communications Group.
